Equipment Repair & Maintenance Tech

Applus Technologies, a leader in the vehicle inspection industry, is seeking an experienced Equipment Repair & Maintenance Technician for our Woodside/Queens Facility.
This position is responsible for repairing, maintaining and supporting all motor vehicle test equipment and related peripherals used in the Vehicle Inspection Program. Key duties include:
Troubleshooting and repairing mechanical equipment for testing brakes, dynamometers, fume exhaust systems, hydraulic suspension system shaker plates,
Troubleshooting and repairing RFID system, tablet PC, computers, bar code scanners, printers, and other PC peripheral devices as required to meet and equipment downtime requirements.
Accurately and professionally responding to questions from inspection personnel regarding test equipment operation.
Safely and accurately maintaining a supply of equipment spares and consumables.
Performing periodic audits, routine diagnostics, calibrations and/or preventative maintenance tasks following set schedules and procedures or as required/assigned.
Accurately and promptly reporting all maintenance activity, spares usage and consumables usage to supervisor.
Completing necessary record keeping; report on assigned work and assist in the completion of records, reports, and other documents.
Performing other tasks as required to ensure the smooth operation of the inspection program or as directed.
Candidates must have 3 to 5 years of basic electrical/electronic(s) knowledge of power supplies, motor controls, pneumatics, and hydraulics, etc. and how they all work together or have an Associate's Degree or certificate in Electronics, Industrial Plant Maintenance, vocational/technical training along with equivalent work experience.
Candidates must also be willing to work before and after standard business hours if required; potential 5:00 AM start time.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
